Hello, and welcome to the Musical Adventures blog!
Over the eleven or more years I have been teaching I have often walked away from a lesson wishing I could have spent a bit longer discussing a topic with a parent, but of course there has been a lesson to teach so I had to give a quick explanation and keep going. Or perhaps it’s been one of those situations where it’s better to discuss things away from little ears. Well, here is my opportunity! I look forward to discussing all sorts of interesting things here, from musical skills to social/emotional development, how the brain learns and acquires new skills to the fascinating benefits of nursery rhymes (yes, this has been researched!).
This blog is designed to be a resource for the Musical Adventures community, so please send me any topic suggestions you may have for future blog posts, I’d love to hear from you!
Until I meet you here next, I hope you have a wonderful fortnight filled with beautiful music. To get you started, here’s a link to The Swan by Saint-Saens, performed by Yo-Yo Ma and Kathryn Stott
